We collaborate with academic, clinical, and industry partners to advance impactful research in supporting people to live independently through AI-enabled care.

We focus on real-world impact, using advanced sensing and data analytics to improve care outcomes, support independence, and support decision-making across health and social care settings.
FitBees was a collaborative project led by Tendertec and funded by UKRI as part of the Healthy Ageing Challenge. The aim was to create a new service to help people with complex care needs (who are often under-represented in mainstream fitness apps) increase their physical and social activity. The service combined home sensors and wearable technologies with motivational encouragement and community connections to support physical activity.

We received funding from the Welsh Government to develop our first prototype (TenderBox). We have received a new round of funding to support R&D activities related to our AI development and product circularity.
Tendertec partnered with Brighton University and Brighton & Hove City Council following project VITALISE to support and shine a light on the contribution of unpaid carers, as part of the Connected Places Catapult’s Home for Healthy Ageing programme.
The SMILE project, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, supported ageing in place for older people. It combined an innovative smart living environment (SLE) ecosystem model and a set of complementary eHealth solutions co-created with older people. SMILE innovated better ways of independent living for older people (and timely care and assistance when needed) at home.

DANDELION, funded by Innovate UK Design Foundations grant, included a user-centred investigation to address the repairability, returnability, and reusability of Tendertec’s Hestia sensors. The project team focused on the full lifecycle of the product, from packaging to sensors redesign, installation and return/reuse of sensors.
As part of the EU-funded VITALISE project, we tested Hestia within Living Lab Infrastructures in Greece. This collaboration supports our mission to empower unpaid caregivers and improve care for Europe’s ageing population.
We are open to collaborate with partners that are aligned with our mission to support people with complex care needs, their circle of support, and the health and social care systems through technology that is easy to use and streamlines processes, rather than adding burden.
